With the right information from a teacher, skills can develop more predictably. In a real sense, all teachers of the Taubman Approach are students too. We never stop refining our skills.
The principles of the technique are clear, but we are constantly developing more insightful ways to describe them and help others understand them inside their own bodies. By having teachers with the most experience be available to help those who want to become experts, there is a way to nourish and train teachers at every level. The teacher training Workshops are one of the mainstays of the mentoring system. We teach students of our most experienced students in front of the group, and these students, in turn, teach the students of other teachers who are trying to boost the level of their own teaching. In addition, we present new developments and insights that facilitate the learning and teaching of the Taubman Approach. The collaborative approach has proven beneficial to students and teachers alike. It might be thought that a naturally competitive spirit would undermine the process, but on the contrary, a sense of collegiality and community support has been the result.
In fact, the only mistake a teacher can really make in the mentoring system is not to ask for help, which is the very thing that stops progress. We are always happy to recommend experienced teachers for those looking for help on any level, whether it is to solve occasional passage problems, to address greater limitations, to correct serious problems, to improve in general or to gain greater insight into the Taubman Approach. Many people exposed to the Taubman Approach have become excited by its possibilities and present themselves as Taubman teachers. They sometimes use the Taubman name in their biographical information and in the promotion of their workshops. While some may be gifted musicians, their results can be poor when they try to implement Taubman work without being thoroughly trained.

In subsequent works, such as the Capriccio in E minor and the Andante cantabile and Presto agitato, Mendelssohn uses this same format.

A climatic return to E major gives way to an aura of mystery as diminished seventh chords slowly darken the whole scene with the hues of the minor mode. Following a close on the dominant of E, the Presto, and the Rondo proper, launches forthwith. It is followed by a wholly Romantic tune in G major, serving as the first episode.

Rondo capriccioso starts with a lyrical introduction then proceeds to the main section Presto leggiero. Mendelssohn interestingly composed this work in reversed order. Later in 1830, he reworked it by adding the song-like expressive Andante introduction in major as a present for Delphine von Schauroth, a gifted pianist. In a letter to Fanny Mendelssohn, he wrote that he had added some new melodies and passages to the original Presto leggiero, just like adding sauce and mushrooms and he was fairly satisfied with the work. Rondo capriccioso is a virtuoso showpiece that Mendelssohn had intended for professional pianists. The Andante starts with three and a half bars of soft, resonant chords over a solid bass, followed by a lyrical tune.

Fortissimo plunging octaves, flashy arpeggios at an ever quickening pace, fast oscillating parallel thirds, and chromatic scales infuse this vigorous section, requiring decent techniques from the performer. An appropriate historical instrument for Rondo capriccioso would be the 1830s Broadwood piano. It has certain advantages over the modern piano, especially its light touch and shallow fall of key which are ideal for pianists to play rapidly and crisply. Some pianists also find the vast differences in tone colour among the bass, middle, and treble registers attractive. This feature seems to be an advantage for the gentle opening of the Andante here. Some musicians, however, are more inclined to play on a modern instrument because of the louder volume and the longer sound decay.
