I had a little trepidation about maybe there would be some feedback or some backlash from people that I killed or types of people that I kill in the movie.
Bobcat Goldthwait: No and I think most people understand that it is a comedy. Bobcat Goldthwait: …to a Rosemary Clooney song. So…yeah man. Ron Bennington: Well you say you do this low budget. Bobcat Goldthwait: Yeah but we do it really ghetto. And we put the same bumper stickers on, and then we have a paper license plate. Ron Bennington: New York cops are just so easy to get along with, and explain shit to.
Besides acting, Mr. Goldthwait has directed the cult film Shakes the Clown, which he also wrote, and directed Aquabats "Super Rad" video. Goldthwait has two children -- a daughter, Tasha, who is also an actress, and stepson, Tyler.
He has been married twice, and is currently married to actress Nikki Cox, who is 16 years his junior.

Venues always changed and so many of them. There was always a place to perform. The night before filming was to begin on that movie, Goldthwait had a small crisis of faith, wondering what might happen when he offered advice to Williams.
What was he going to say? It is touching, tender, honest and very funny. Much on this CD is. Goldthwait is pleased with it and his new life here. Thankfully, it was fake mace.
So for better or for worse, they are my voice. Ron Bennington: I have a hard time when people say what are these films like? But, this one I actually do feel is a black comedy. The other ones are dark but this one is by definition. My favorite comedies that make me laugh are things like Curb Your Enthusiasm and Extras and shows like that, where you feel really awkward.
And that is kind of what I based my career on as a filmmaker. Bobcat Goldthwait: …that you have to get past. Are you still in? This one, we shot a baby at the beginning of this movie, about two minutes in. But in my defense that baby was an asshole. I throw it up front. He plays a guy whose life is horrible. Ron Bennington: I think this could have been on a double bill with Network. But when they did Network, you were like, TV will never be that bad. I think you were being kind.
Bobcat Goldthwait: Oh it is. The bar keeps getting lowered and lowered. It all seems so quaint now. Bobcat Goldthwait: Thanks, that is the point of the movie. It is supposed to dump it back on us. Bobcat Goldthwait: Joel is so amazing. Ron Bennington: Joel for you, I thought that you played it so emotionally…kind of hurting that you start to physically hurt. Just the physical toll in this.
Barry has always been anti-bully, he was sticking up for the little guy. Barry tweets the Pope every day trying o get excommunicated. I was trying to do a doc that was hopefully entertaining and funny tell a bigger story. As Barry says, victims of abuse should tell someone, tell everyone. It has my tone in it, despite the dark subject matter.

When he was 19, he made his first television appearance on Late Night with David Letterman. This is not the first time he would make a splash on the late-night talk-show circuit. He is also perhaps not so fondly remembered for an Andy Kaufman-esque stint on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno that involved setting a chair on fire and ensuing arson charges. Besides setting fire to studio furniture, Bobcat has done almost everything on stage, including shaving his already-balding head! He is known for wearing somewhat of a mullet.
Movies are in the early stages. I had been away from stand-up for some time and realized I missed it. I hope a listener, an audience, can sense that I am having fun. This is the first time I am just telling stories, opening up about who I am. You can almost hear wheels turning as he talks. Goldthwait is a child of Syracuse, New York. He was a comically precocious kid, hosting performances in school to make his friends laugh and hitting the local comedy clubs by the time he was 15. He performed in the club scene in Boston and fame came quickly.
