Орк со смехом опускает решетку и остаётся с тобой один на один. Здесь мне надоело писать о каждом ходе, поэтому пора закругляться. DW — это не «словеска с кубиками», это вполне традиционная система, которая даёт много инструментов для поддержания повествования. Да, ещё есть передача нарративных прав, но пост не об этом, я сейчас о провалах.
If the target is a Large or smaller non-magical object or creation of magical force, it is disintegrated without a saving throw. If the target is a Huge or larger object or creation of magical force, this ray disintegrates a 10-foot cube of it. Death Ray: The targeted creature must succeed on a DC 16 Dexterity saving throw or take 55 10d10 necrotic damage. The target dies if the ray reduces it to 0 hit points. Legendary Actions The beholder can take 3 legendary actions, using the Eye Ray option below.
The beholder regains spent legendary actions at the start of its turn. Eye Ray: The beholder uses one random eye ray. Beholder Physiology Appearance Beholders have the appearance of large, floating heads with a single, very large eye dominating the centre of its face, a mouth of vicious teeth and about 10 eyestalks protruding from its head. These eye stalks surround its head giving the beholder the ability to see all around itself, even when it sleeps with the eyestalks remaining alert. Its skin is tough and gnarly though many variations exist in the physical attributes of a beholder.
Usually, beholder kin that are further from other kin in geography, tend to have increasingly different physical attributes. Reproduction Beholders do not reproduce in a typical manner. When a beholder dreams, it might dream of other beholders or even of a copy of itself. Occasionally, when this happens, the dream will become a warp in reality with the dreamed up beholder becoming a real, living being. Often, the new beholder and the creator beholder will fight to the death much to the relief of other creatures.
A beholder could dream up any creature its twisted mind conjures up in its dreams including other variations of beholders such as those described below. Types of Beholders Solitary Beholder Most beholders are solitary creatures due to their paranoid nature; they distrust even other beholders.
If chased after this point, they would defend themselves by biting at their pursuer. The beholder eyes would be ground into a powder, burnt until the powder was nothing but black dust, then doused with oil, set on fire and placed in a special magic circle. Using the dust as the component a wizard would create a one way gate to Nirvana and call the monster in a way similar to the summon monster spell. The lower class resided alone in small vertical caves in the modron disk dug out using their mouths. The upper class worked as guards for important modron and were educated to uphold the lawful ideals of Mechanus. Lower class spectators tended to drift between lawful good and lawful neutral, while upper class were strictly lawful neutral. The only way to become an upper class spectator was to capture and deliver a rogue modron to local Mechanus authorities. High leveled modrons, and even spectators themselves would bargain with the bodies of slain spectators to be used for research by others.
Spectators were smaller than regular beholders and as such required less food, although a full meal for them was still enough to make a large meal for 6 people. They could simply conjure the large quantity of food needed for them to live each day, although they were willing to share with visitors.
They will continue their argument once the players get drunk enough! A drunken nobleman staggers down the street, singing loudly about how much he loves his wife!
He will stop and offer players some ale if they buy him one! A man comes out of his house and shoos them away before heading back inside. Barmaid and drunk. The drunk is trying to convince the barmaid to sleep with him.
A group of children are playing hide-and-seek. A group of men are arguing about whether or not a horse is a mammal. A drunk man is trying to steal a horse from a stable. A woman is trying to sell a basket of apples.
A woman is trying to sell a basket of flowers. Two men are arguing about whether or not the sun orbits around the Earth or the Earth orbits around the sun. Two men are arguing about whether or not the moon landing was real or if it was staged in a film studio. A group of elderly women is protesting outside of a bank.
They want the bank to give them their money because they think that the bank has been stealing from them over the years. The PCs see a man who looks like he is about to commit suicide by jumping off a bridge into a river below. The man says that he is tired of living and wants to die. He asks the PCs to join him in jumping off the bridge into the river below.
The well-dressed men are demanding money from the man who looks like he is about to be robbed. A group of men are holding up a group of women and demanding that they give them all of their money and valuables. The women are crying and begging as the men hold them at gun point. A group of young children are playing in the street.
The children are playing a game where they pretend to be adult heroes who are fighting against an evil king and his army of orcs, goblins, and dragons. A group of men are arguing about whether or not they should hire a group of mercenaries to go with them on an adventure that they are planning on going on. A man is standing on top of a tall building near the center of the city, threatening to jump off of the building if anyone comes near him or tries to talk to him or reason with him or anything like that. This is not a suicide attempt, but instead this is a protest against the government for not doing anything about all of the crime in the city and for not providing enough protection for its citizens.
A group of children are playing a game where they pretend that they are adventurers who are fighting against a dragon in an underground dungeon filled with treasure and magic items and traps and monsters and all of that good stuff. A group of adults are arguing about whether or not they should hire a group of mercenaries to go with them on an adventure that they are planning on going on. Unexpectedly, you see a local priest being chased by a giant snake. The snake is not attacking, it is just trying to catch the priest.
The priest is running as fast as he can. If you help the priest, he will tell you that he is in trouble because he owes some bad guys money. He will offer to repay you with some magic items if he can just get away from the snake. A group of local kids are playing with a ball.
The ball accidentally bounces into a nearby building, breaking a window. The kids will run away. The players can either deal with the owner of the building or try to fix the broken window themselves. A group of men are talking about how terrible their jobs are.
One of the men is a blacksmith. If players talk to him, he will tell them about how much he hates his job and how he wants to quit but he has no other skills and no other way to make a living. You see a group of people gathered around a stage. There is an old man on the stage who is telling stories about his adventures as a younger man.
The stories are very long and very detailed. If players listen long enough, they will gain minor knowledge about an interesting dungeon nearby.

A hive will typically consist of 3-10 beholders with the original beholder taking the place of hive leader. Death Tyrants Death tyrants are older beholders that have become increasingly paranoid and concerned about their mortality. When this occurs, their dreams can go into strange realms, considering how it can live on after death. Such dreams can cause a change in reality transforming the beholder into an undead state. They have 10 tentacles with mouths of sharp teeth on their ends. A death kiss is paranoid about dying of starvation so constantly seeks to feed. It feeds on the blood of other creatures and is always trying to consume other creatures to feed itself. Usually, such creatures are used to rid a lair of vermin and such other menial tasks. Spectator A spectator is a lesser beholder that is summoned from another plane of existence to guard something of great value such as treasure or an artefact. Gauth Gauths exist on the same plane of existence as spectators and will often use the summoning process used to summon a spectator to travel to the new plane. The place of origin of gauths is unknown though it is believed that they are born differently to normal beholders.
As the DM, you can use this paranoia to design a lair that is fraught with danger for your players. The eyestalks perform 3 random spell-like rays at random from a list of 10 every turn! On top of this, beholders get 3 legendary actions allowing them to make 3 more eye ray attacks every turn making them even more devastating! The other thing to be aware of is that while most beholders are aggressively xenophobic considering all other creatures lesser and even repulsive , some beholders do channel their xenophobia into terrible despotism instead slightly better than the usual genocidal tendencies they have I suppose. Such beholders are known as eye tyrants Xanathar of Waterdeep is an example of an eye tyrant. Eye tyrants often do have a group of slaves or even agents that work on their behalf.
Condition Immunities: Exhaustion. A considerable amount of resistances and immunities, but another thing that stands out about the Nightwalker is the lack of vulnerabilities. Usually, undead creatures are vulnerable to radiant damage. Not so with the Nightwalker, such a condensed collection of negative energy that even divinity struggles to make a mark. Even so, remembering the only options for dealing total damage to this creature is worthwhile: radiant, force, and psychic. Any magical weapon will also do the job. Senses Superior Darkvision: 120ft. Actions Multiattack The Nightwalker attacks twice each round, equating to either two uses of Enervating Focus or one coupled with a single use of Finger of Doom. They must also succeed on a hefty constitution saving throw of DC 21. If it fails, its hit point maximum is reduced by the same amount as the damage they took, making this damage permanent until they receive a Greater Restoration spell or finish a long rest.
Gizmos are also extensively used by designers within Foundry for creating realistic mockups of future node properties panels to share with the dev team. Since the origins of Nuke, controls have been exposed by manually fishing the desired knob inside an obsolete panel. It is very easy for the user to get lost among the myriads of knobs present in a production level Gizmo. Even when used correctly, the old workflow still requires a significant amount of clicks.
