Сейчас турнир четырех наций выглядит с точки зрения задумки как самый настоящий Евротур, только в другом масштабе и качестве. Однако непонятно, зачем лига устраивает вынесенные матчи на другом континенте, а потом в самый нужный момент оставляет болельщиков из Чехии, Германии, Швейцарии, Словакии без хоккея. Да, уровень турнира с 8 командами бы просел, но немного - даже если всю вторую четверку считать нетоповой, то при формате с двумя группами и полуфиналами число суперматчей сократилось бы всего лишь с 7 до 5. А календарь пришлось бы раздвинуть всего на два лишних дня. НХЛ, увы, мыслит какими-то другими, трудно понятными категориями.
