Predominantly passion fruit and cassis, but with clear blueberry, mango, lavender and pomegranate on the nose, and hints of allspice and graphite. The flavors simultaneously take on elegant floral notes, bright fruit as well as earth and midweight tannins. The finish is lengthy and bright with just enough tannins to provide structure.

Elevations within the AVA range from 500 feet 150 m in the southwest corner to 3,430 feet 1,050 m in the northeast corner, in the foothills of the San Rafael Range. It is home to six major vineyards and one active winery. Ballard Canyon lies further east in the valley of Sta.
