The village seemed abandoned for a long time, the fields were dry, everything was in ruins and not a single sound was heard. The perfect place for a hidden basement. But it seemed your targets were on a mission by themselves.
Instead of looking for them without knowing their whereabouts, you decided to wait until they are back and sneak attack them. A cold breeze left you shuddering and the little campfire was the only light and heat source. Rashomon was like a mist over the two of you in order to hide the smoke and light and cover your hiding spot. Only Akutagawa sat near the campfire and looked into the flames. You sat a few meters away in the direction of the open field. Guild members were smart. There was a possibilty that they saw right through your ability and managed to trick you.
You rubbed your arms to try to warm yourself. A shadow wiggled on the ground in your direction, but you failed to notice it. At least until you got wrapped in a shadow and were pulled against Akutagawa. You blinked in surprise and saw Rashomon disappearing in his jacket. Nevermind it. Rashomon never acted on its own. That means Akutagawa was worried about you.
You smiled and leaned against his shoulder.

Ацуши мотнул головой, отгоняя наваждение. Сейчас не стоит предаваться болезненным воспоминаниям, он пришел почтить память Дазая. Это потом Накаджима будет сидеть в своей комнате, предаваясь тоске.
Потом, не сейчас. Ацуши протянул руку и дотронулся до фотографии, на которой Осаму насмешливо улыбался и подмигивал. Этот человек был душой Агентства, хотя никто этого не осознавал.

Dazai, so shocked by his gesture of kindness, passes out. When the Shell is activated and starts to destory the entire world, Atsushi heads back in time by 55 minutes with the help of H. Atsushi is forced to infiltrate the group of thieves and Dazai suggests the nickname Matasaburou of the Wind for Atsushi to use as an alias. It is revealed that he chooses this name purely for his own amusement, messing with Atsushi yet again. There are also several sentimental moments between them during the novel.
In a memory, Atsushi, while following along behind Dazai, comes to the realization that Dazai is not completely flawless and has many human faults, contrary to what he once believed. After being advised by Kunikida, Atsushi is sure Dazai will figure out exactly what to do. Towards the end of the light novel, Dazai ends up in mortal danger due to a stab wound from Jules Gabirel Verne Gab and Atsushi is tasked with saving him. In an effort to reach Yosano, who can save Dazai, Atsushi is in peril alongside Akutagawa, as Dazai is about to die from blood loss. Akutagawa stabs Atsushi in the throat and as the latter blacks out, he recalls a conversation he had with Dazai where he asked Dazai, "Why do you want to kill yourself? Atsushi remains silent and nervous, not knowing what to do but eventually shaking off his doubts and jumping straight into the river to save the man.

Было так спокойно, что парень чуть не задремал, а Ода потрепал его по волосам, как одного из тех детей, к которым он ходит и уложил спать на диване.
