Goldthwait is Back - with His Real Voice A man of multiple talents—actor, director, comedian, and screenwriter—Goldthwait became a recognizable stand-up performer in the 1980s Thanks to his distinct voice, political satires, and black comedy style. But now, the comedian has put his old style behind him - and progressed as an artist. Goldthwait continues to appear on stage, but he now uses his real voice to make the audience laugh. In a series of YouTube videos posted by Laugh Out Loud Flix in March 2020, he used his genetically blessed voice to perform for the enormous crowd.
Until later in his career, he rarely appeared out of character: a gutsy goofball with a grating voice.
Bobcat is perhaps best remembered for his big debut role as "himself" in the movie Police Academy 2, the following Police Academy movies, and his string of comedy specials, including one in 1987, aptly titled Bobcat Goldthwait: Is He Always Like That? By then he had developed his own loyal following, however, and recorded one of his concerts, Meat Bob Live from 1992; he also can be heard on several of the Comic Relief recordings. Throughout the second decade of his career, Bobcat continued to appear in bit parts in a slew of Hollywood B-movies. Bobcat got his start performing in comedy clubs when he was 15 and still attending high school.

At an early age, Goldthwait decided on a career as a comedian, inspired by enjoying making his friends laugh. During his time at St. Goldthwait would experiment with new content and developed a strong liking for props. They formed a comedy troupe called The Generic Comics.
