Best 9 New Features in Revit 2024
Toposolids are new system families with compound layers and type parameters. Add multiple layers and set materials. You can create toposolids from sketch or CAD imports, just select layers that contain points. You can use Split tool from the Modify tab to split a toposlid into multiple toposolids.
You can use Graded Region tool on toposolids in Existing phase. Grading of surface points at toposolids works the same way as the shape editor at floors. Sub-Divide tool replaced Subregion tool.
You can use Sub-Divide to apply different materials to a toposolid. Then you can set material and height thickness for each sub-division. Mass void replaced Building Pad tool.
Create void mass and use the Cut tool to create hole in the Toposolid. This workflow is less comfortable than using Building Pad tool but it enables to create any shape for site excavations or tunnels. Cutting enabled for topography.
You can cut a toposolid with other toposolids or with elements in other categories, including walls, floors, structural foundations, etc. In previous versions of Revit, you probably used railings to create curbs. In this version you can use Floor Slab Edge, but take into account that it can only be placed on the edge of the toposolid, the edge of subdivision is not supported.

Открыл первое попавшееся семейство — точки подключения умывальника. Добавил вложенное семейство в категории «Элементы узлов», нарисовал символическую линию и область штриховки. Если дисциплина инженерная, Сантехника, Механизмы или Электросети, то в параметре «Показать невидимые линии» должно стоять «Нет», иначе всё просвечивает. Вот только есть незадача: при таком выборе не будет видно оси труб, а нам они нужны. Если на дисциплине «Координация» выбрать «Нет» или «По категории», то результат одинаковый: оси не видно, но и не просвечивает, всё как на первом скриншоте ниже. Если при «Координации» выбрать «Все», то оси видно, само УГО отрисовывается в нужном порядке, но при этом ещё в стиле невидимых линий отображается основная геометрия семейства. Оформить план красиво по-прежнему нельзя.
Повышена устойчивость при создании потолка на плане потолка.
Повышена стабильность при перетаскивании или переворачивании элементов управления соединителями семейства MEP. Повышена стабильность за счет отключения пользовательской модификации значения расхода воздухораспределителя, когда параметр расхода определен в формуле. It will show textures like in the Realistic mode but without the global lights which sometimes can be a little buggy on floorplans.
You can use the Texture style for presentation in 3D views, or floor planners, for example. However, Revit 2024 has introduced its own Color Book. This Color Book has premade colors of different sets that can be used for different materials, filled regions, etc.
Not only do the Color Books feature a variety of pre-existing color sets, such as Pantone colors, but they have also expanded to include RAL colors. Furthermore, you are allowed to search for a color in the blank field below the Color Books dialog. In order to use this feature properly, you need to be very precise when typing your search terms into the blank field.
After downloading or creating your own Color Book, you can put the. Also, the visual styles are very inconsistent in their behavior when adding them to your project and when printing them in Vector Or Raster mode. Thankfully, in Revit 2024 you are allowed to change the draw order in the Arrange panel of the family editor.
Use the Bring to Front or Send to Back buttons to re-arrange the draw order. The visual behavior is fixed and acts correctly now in the family, project, and when printing in Vector or Raster mode. You are now allowed to select multiple views and schedules from within the Project Browser and drag them onto a sheet.

To convert a toposurface, select it and follow the steps shown in Figure 26. Step 2 involves selecting a toposurface family type that can have several surface characteristics preset. Figure 26. The steps to upgrade a toposurface to a toposolid. The toposurface is not deleted as this would delete the building pads which need to be recreated manually. Since there is no building pad tool, Autodesk recommends that an in-place mass set to cut the toposolid be created, as shown in Figure 27.
This provides a lot more options, like tunnels and sloped edges. The biggest challenge is that the workflow is not as intuitive for the average Revit user, in my opinion. Figure 27. The suggested replacement for the building pad tool is an in-place mass void. Sub-regions are automatically converted to sub-divisions. Figure 28 shows the various type settings for this new element. Notice two things. First, the toposolid is fundamentally based on the floor element. Second, the contour settings are now set per object type rather than globally.
Figure 28. Toposolid properties. Knowing that the element is essentially an enhanced floor element, note that apply materials is a little odd. Then I had to paint a grass material on the surface. The tricky part with painting is that the surface is made up of several facets and required several picks to paint the entire surface. Toposolid — Creation Workflow A toposolid is created similar to a floor element. You start by sketching the perimeter of the ground to be defined and then finish the creation mode. Next, you select the toposurface and use the Add Points option on the ribbon, adjusting the offset value also on the ribbon. Roads and walkways are created using the Sub-Divide tool found on the ribbon when a toposolid is selected.
This is similar to the sub-region tool where an enclosed area is defined within the larger toposolid perimeter. The result is a solid extrusion which conforms to the ground and can be adjusted vertically. However, the sub-divide height cannot be negative. The last image in this section shows how a mass void can create a tunnel in the toposolid. This was not possible with a toposurface. When a CAD file is available, a toposolid can be generated from it as in the past. Figure 29. Creating a toposolid. Figure 30.

Shared Coordinates While there is nothing new with shared coordinates, I wanted to share a link to my YouTube series on the topic Shared Coordinates in Revit that is easy to understand and covers many of the questions that often come up. This workflow will be the same in Revit 2024, even when using the new toposolid element. This workflow also works on a project hosted in BIM 360. Figure 32. The shared coordinates workflow. Cut Geometry Enhancement With the advent of the toposolid, there have been enhancements to what kind of elements can be used to cut other elements.
Because the toposolid is a solid, Revit does not know that other elements should automatically cut it. If you have foundation walls going below grade, for example, you now have to use the Cut tool and select the wall and the toposolid to get the correct graphic results in a section.

Вроде да может быть полезно, но галочка не решает проблему автоматического присоединения торцов стен друг к другу эффект виден на картинке , а следовательно лучше в отдельном файле делать отделку. Периметр помещения Напоследок ещё одно очень полезное изменение. Раньше периметр помещения считался некорректно, если внутри помещения есть колонны или стены, площадь считается правильно, а периметр нет — не учитывает их. Теперь это допилили и периметр считается правильно. Если где-то в расчётах используете периметр это очень полезно, не придётся делать дополнительный параметр для ручного добавления таких вещей. И всё таки — А раньше нельзя было поправить?! Whilst this is an amazingly simple tool it really makes a difference when working with rebar. In the example below we have a rebar set which is configured for the spacing and number of bars. If I add additional bars, they may end up on the wrong end of the rebar set. Another new tool in Revit 2024 allows us to control the alignment of freeform rebar when placing along a path. In previous releases, the rebar would stay aligned to the path, but we can now align the rebar vertically if required. An example of this is shown below with the curved wall with a tapering base. In this example, the rebar is aligned vertically but still runs along the path. Analytical Modelling Updates Many of these updates happened in Revit 2023. Lat year we saw the introduction of an independent analytical model that could be managed and controlled separately from the physical model. To strengthen this workflow, we have some new tools to help with the definition of the analytical model. We can now create curved panels. The curved panel is then created. When defining the analytical model, previously you would need to manually associate this to its physical counterpart, but we now have a new assisted option. This is, of course, much more efficient and will eliminate mistakes. The physical or analytical model can both be used to build the counterpart automatically. For example, if the engineer has started to build the analysis model in Revit, the technician can then use Dynamo Player to create the physical model based on the analytical model properties. Analytical Loads The loads in previous releases were split into two groups, we had hosted loads and non-hosted loads which could be point, line or area loads. The non hosted loads would not update and would have needed to be recreated when the analytical model updated. Also, point loads were exceedingly difficult to place in precise locations and had to be done in plan views with workplanes. The new loads in Revit 2024 are now simpler and are always hosted. Each load type has distinct options to assist when placing the load onto the analytical element. For example, the below image shows a point load being placed, and you can place this on an end point or pick a position along the element. When working with loads, the scale can now be controlled via the Structural Settings dialog box.
